AC MILAN-THE rossaNerRI...

The club was founded in 1899 under the name of Milan Cricket and Football club, and the first official headquarters was the Fiaschetteria Toscana of Via Breschet. The first President was Mr. Edwards, who was partnered by Alfred Kipling who chose the official club colours. On the 4th of April 1900 the first official match was played, a 3-0 defeat against the Torinese. The following year the first Scudetto was won, followed by two others in 1906 and 1907, years in which the Cricket part was removed from the name of the team. In the 1940s the team took the definite name of AC Milan, but it was in the 1950s that the team returned to winning ways thanks to the purchases of players such as Liedhol, Gren and Nordhal. In the following decade two more affirmations arrived, which brought other important signatures like those of Schiaffino, Altafini, Rivera and leader Nereo Rocco. Also at international level great successes arrived, such as on the 22nd of May 1963, when Milan won the Champions Cup in London. These were also the years of Rivera, who became the undisputable leader and flag of the team. The results of the 1970s were less brilliant, but the worst moment in the rossoneri’️s history arrived in 1980, when the club was involved in the ‘totonero’️ scandal and relegated to Serie B. President Colombo was banned for life, leaving his position to Morazzoni, who immediately took the team back to Serie A. The return was not a happy one, and a 14th place finish relegated the rossoneri once again. The club fell in the hands of another owner, Farina, who took Milan back to Serie A and helped them to stay in the top positions of the league, but the definite change arrived in 1986, when the club was bought by Silvio Berlusconi, who in the next twenty years built one of the most successful teams in the history of football. There was the Sacchi cycle, the arrival of Gullit, Rijkaard and Van Basten, the domestic and international victories, and then the arrival of Capello who continued from where his predecessor had left off, taking Milan to the top of the world. Zaccheroni, who won the tricolore in his first season, and then Ancelotti, able to win the Champions League and a Scudetto in two years, gave continuity to the team

Kaka Praises Real Madrid; Reiterates Desire To Captain Milan

The Rossoneri icon has addressed some issues concerning his playing future in Bergamo.

Milan’s Brazilian superstar, Kaka, has again been linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past week, despite recently declaring that he intends to remain with the Rossoneri for the remainder of his career.

Consequently, he was forced to quash these rumours only yesterday, by pledging his future to his Italian club yet again.

Late last night, though, in an interview with a Hungarian newspaper, the South American had some kind things to say about the Spanish club, a team that have been on his trail for quite some time now.

“Real Madrid are an extraordinary club, but as I have said many times before, I never want to leave Milan,” Kaka affirmed in Nemzeti Sport.

“Again, I love Milan, and I have the intention of playing there for a very long time.”

The 26-year-old was extremely close to joining the English Premier League club Manchester City in January, but the deal collapsed despite the vast riches on the table.

Kaka said, “I refused their offer because everyone at Milan are convinced that we have a bright future ahead. I have so much affection for this club, so for me it was essential to remain here.”

The former Sao Paulo star concluded the interview by addressing a few things concerning the Rossoneri, mainly their transfer policy, as well as his desire to captain the club in the future.

He continued, “Having a team formed by players who have been here for so long isn’t a bad thing, however sometimes it’s necessary to make a change. This could be the right time for us to do exactly that.

“When [Paolo] Maldini retires, I believe that the next captain will be either [Massimo] Ambrosini or [Gennaro] Gattuso. Having said this though, I would certainly love to wear the armband one day too.”

Arsenal Striker Adebayor Could Be Useful For Milan - Flamini
Former Arsenal man Mathieu Flamini talked about his recent performances at Milan and advised the Rossoneri to go after his former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor.

Although he had a disappointing start to his Milan adventure earlier this season, former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has slowly managed to work his way into the team's starting line up. At the moment it seems like coach Carlo Ancelotti intends to give him an important role in the team's future.

The Frenchman talked about the Rossoneri's situation after the 5-1 victory against Torino yesterday, that allowed them to catch second-placed Juventus.

"Yesterday we played well, it was important to have reached Juventus," he said to larepubblica.it. "We know there is very little chance of winning the Scudetto, but we want to win all our next games, then we'll see where we end up. We want to get back into the Champions League, and finishing second would give us more satisfactions."

On playing as a right-back in yesterday's match, Flamini said, "I played in that position because of an emergency situation, but I feel like a midfielder and that's where I want to play."

The 25-year-old also talked about his former Arsenal team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor, who has been close to joining Milan as well in the past.

"Since he has been playing with Arsenal, he has improved incredibly, now he has reached the top," he added. "If he came to Milan he could be really useful."

Milan's Ancelotti: Gerrard won't leave Anfield

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has said he has doubts that the Rossonerri can lure Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to the San Siro this summer.

Milan play the Hungarian national team in a friendly in Budapest on Wednesday and Ancelotti was quizzed on the possibility of signing Gerrard when the transfer window reopens, but the Italian said he was not confident of landing Liverpool's captain.

"I think Steven Gerrard is an outstanding player but I doubt that he'd leave Liverpool," Ancelotti told Hungarian sports daily Nemzeti Sport. "We're eyeing many players but it would be too soon to mention any names before the end of the season."

Ancelotti's future at the San Siro has been called into question of late, with the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid rumoured to be interested in the Italian manager, but Ancelotti expects to be with Milan next term.

He said: "I think I am going to stay. This is my own and my club's intention too. Although this is still an open question and I can't confirm anything."

With Italian football stuck in England's shadow again this season Ancelotti thinks Serie A is suffering because it does not generate the same kind of money as the Premier League.

He added: "The distance is big especially from the English clubs and I think this is because of the financial differences.

"This is a simple case: if you have more money then you can buy better and competitive players.

"We must find the way which leads the Italian football back to the highest stage where we can be worthy opponents of the English rivals."

aisehh..
ko nk bli gerard mmg la susah..
beli fabregas je..
die pun pnh kata nk men kt serie a..

AC Milan Coach Ancelotti Continues To Deny Chelsea Move

'Carletto' claimed he cannot become the boss at Stamford Bridge, since he does not know the language...

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti continues to deny reports he will be the successor to Guus Hiddink at Chelsea next season. The tactician was asked by the press if he will be in London at the start of 2009-10.

"How's my English? I still only speak Italian," was Ancelotti's response to Sky, denying the press stories.

'Carletto' was in London to witness the second-leg of the Champions League semi-final between Arsenal and Manchester United, where the Red Devils walked away 3-1 winners. He commented on the performance of alleged Milan transfer target Emmanuel Adebayor.

"He struggled, like all of Arsenal," suggested the Italian. "I don't think [Arsene] Wenger's team should be judged by this game."

Ancelotti has a high profile match of his own coming up as the Rossoneri host Juventus on Sunday evening.

Frank Rijkaard Is A Candidate For Milan Post – Agent

Rijkaard's agent didn’t completely ruled out a return to Milan as he shed some light on his client’s future plans...

Frank Rijkaard's agent, Perry Overeem, has admitted that his client could end up coaching Milan at the end of the season.

The former Rossoneri stopper has been out of action since leaving Spanish giants Barcelona last season. Rijkaard has been linked with a return to the San Siro as a possible replacement for Carlo Ancelotti should the Italian leave his post next month. German side Wolfsburg have also entered the frame, however, Overeem insists all is quiet so far in terms of deals, but he has not ruled out a summer switch to Milan.

"Milan? All I can say is that Frank is one of the candidates for many teams who are set to change coach at the end of the season," the agent told Sportmediaset.it.

"As for Wolfsburg, there is nothing concrete, it's all speculation, and there is nothing concrete with any other teams either."

A number of reports linked the former Blaugrana man back a Spanish move, however, his agent hinted that Rijkaard wants to try his hand at coaching in a different country.

"Frank has already worked in Spain. I feel that wouldn't be his first choice. However, we will have to look at the offers that arrive," concluded Overeem.
